Correctness comes first
Boreen rewards rare correct answers. “Unusual” and “correct” are separate tests: an obscure response outside the question’s category does not become a good choice just because few people would type it. First identify something that fits, then consider whether a less obvious candidate is equally defensible.
The six reported daily distance tiers
Cork Beo’s 30 October 2026 report describes the following animal tiers and distances. Treat the distances as a dated published reference, not a promise about future versions. The article also gives approximate player-frequency examples; we have not independently verified exact percentage thresholds or the live rarity calculation.
Robin
10 km
Hedgehog
25 km
Red Fox
40 km
Irish Hare
55 km
Red Squirrel
75 km
Golden Eagle
100 km
Add up your journey
Choose the tier shown by the official game for each of your seven questions. This tally adds the reported distances only. It cannot predict the tier of an answer, submit responses, or query the game. An unrecorded round stays blank; it is not treated as a confirmed wrong answer.
Your recorded distance
Two journeys with the same number of correct answers
As a worked example, seven Robin-tier answers total 70 km. Seven Red Fox-tier answers total 280 km. These are arithmetic examples using the published distances, not historical player results. The example shows why the number of correct responses alone does not explain a Boreen distance.
Seven 100 km tiers would total 700 km under this table. That is a calculated ceiling for seven such entries, not a verified claim about every scoring edge case or bonus.
Game distance is not travel distance
The official Journey #001 start screen labels landmarks along a 0–700 km scale. These are part of the game’s progress display. They should not be used to plan a real driving route or infer distances between Irish landmarks.
Table quiz uses points
The official Table Quiz interface uses 1–6 points for the six tiers. A daily 100 km Golden Eagle corresponds to a different unit from a table-quiz 6-point Golden Eagle. See the table quiz guide before keeping a group score.
